Activities

We would appreciate $5 per person payable at the reunion check-in desk to help defray reunion costs. This will include a memento for everyone to take home. If this is a burden, pay what you can or just come.
  • Outdoor Fun – There will be activities for kids young and old. My son Jonathan Steiner will help coordinate activities for younger children. Please send him ideas of a game that you can personally oversee. We need volunteers! We need another coordinator and many volunteers to help. One idea I had is to get some boxes of all shapes and sizes, tape, knives, and of course adult supervision, and challenge the youth to build a Swiss castle!

David Goff will bring a Slip 'n Slide. Thanks David, and to Gayla Muir for the great idea!

Could someone please bring equipment for volleyball?

Could someone bring a first-aid kit, and spray-on waterproof sun screen (3-4 bottles)? Please RSVP.

  • Magic Show – Professional magician John Johansen (Jacque's husband and the father of our web designer) will wow us with a special performance!

  • Talent Show – From what I’ve been learning, this family's got TALENT! I’ll brag now and let you all prove it later:

    • Lovena Braegger has been the costume seamstress for the Martin Harris Pageant for twenty years, and for the 15,000-member cast of the Joseph Smith Commemoration. Her son Michael DeVon Braegger transports all the sound, lighting, and staging equipment for all the pageants of the LDS Church nationwide.

    • Of course, there's Nyle Steiner who invented both the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument and EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument), and made his living performing and recording for Hollywood movies, TV shows and more (he's famous—just Google his name).

    • Keith Rowley is a master Scottish harpist who plays many other instruments as well!

    • Boyd Steiner is a magnificent artist!

    • John Ernest Steiner (yes, he shares the same name as his grandpa) is an exceptional violinist (a former member of the Utah Symphony).

    • Randy and Loretta Steiner King created and directed the show commemorating the Idaho State Centennial!

    • We even have our very own Olympic hopeful in the pole vault: April Steiner (good luck with your tryout)!

I have great hopes that the aforementioned will participate in the program. However, I'm sure there are many more whose talents I simply don't know yet. Even if I have not asked you personally, will you please share your talent? I am also hoping still more in our family will bring their crafts, quilts, photography, art, etc. to share. Also, if there is someone who wants to coordinate this program, please let me know.

  • Computer Station – We want to have computers and printers set up to share histories, photos, genealogies, etc. So, please bring your computers and printers and other items you are inspired to bring, those who can! Who will coordinate this?

Food

This will be potluck. We still need someone to help coordinate this. For those traveling, keep it simple. If you do want to make something that travels well, great. Remember that it is easy to purchase at grocery stores once you arrive. I would love to have people bring German and Swiss cuisine recipes of main dishes and desserts. Those that do, please also bring recipes. We will load them later into the website for all to access! Also, we need people to bring 5-gallon containers for water, lemonade, and fruit punch.
